During its 2018 session, the Virginia General Assembly passed legislation that designates the Thursday before Memorial Day each year as Celebrate Transportation Day in Virginia.
This year, Celebrate Transportation Day is May 27. The event showcases each Virginia multimodal transportation agency and all that is offered to residents and visitors. From runways, railways, waterways and roads, thousands of men and women across the Commonwealth keep Virginia moving through their roles across these agencies.
A strong commitment to Virginia’s environment is highlighted this year. Teams across the Commonwealth are dedicating time to clean up local trails and paths this Celebrate Transportation Day.
Today and every day, Virginia’s residents and visitors are asked to commit to a clean, healthy environment and join in the effort to keep our state litter-free. Visit LoversNotLitter.org to learn more about these efforts and take the No Love For Litter Pledge today.
